Tuesday 11 January– Kensington Ride (approx.. 54kms)
Meet at Altona Pier at 10 a.m.
Ride trail and short cut to Newport, Morning Coffee on the way heading towards Shepherd’s Bridge. Follow Maribyrnong River, then crossing the bridge towards the Newmarket CaBle Yards.

We turn on the same track towards Kensington for lunch on Belair Street. Ride or Train home from Footscray StaHon

Tuesday 18 January – Collingwood’s Children’s Farm –
Meet at Flinders Street Railway StaHon at 10 a.m.
Ride the trail along Yarra River Banks to Collingwood Children’s Farm for Lunch, stopping along the way for Morning Coffee. Ride back to Flinders St StaHon. Ride or train home.

Tuesday 25 January –Sandringham (approx. 55kms)
Early Start – Taking the Punt
Meet at Altona Pier, Riders leave Pier at 8.15 a.m. SHARP
We’re taking the shortcut to Newport to pick up the last Punt across the river. Ride along Port Melbourne Beach where we will stop for our Morning Coffee break.

ConHnue along the Beach road to Sandringham for lunch. Train or ride home.

 

Tuesday 1 February. (David Irvine’s ride: Darebin Creek Trail)
Meet at Southern Cross StaHon at 10.00am SHARP.
Catch train to Thomastown which departs PlaPorm 9 at 09.45am SHARP. You will need to catch the 9.02 or an earlier Altona train, and get across to the deparHng plaPorm.

Head towards the Ring Road bike path. Morning Tea at Golf Course in Plenty Road. During ride, Lunch spot will be decided on the day.

Tuesday 8 February – Maribyrnong River Trail
Meet at Altona Pier at 10 a.m.
Head towards Footscray/Maribyrnong River towards the Flemington Racecourse. Stop at Edgewater for coffee. Ride towards the Hmber bridge. Seek out lunch spot in area or conHnue to Conway’s Fish shop. Ride or train home from Footscray StaHon.

Tuesday 15 February – Elwood Ride (approx.. 60 kms)

Meet at Flinders Street Railway StaHon at 10 a.m.

Ride through Southbank to the Port Melbourne trail. Follow the beach front to St Kilda Beach for Morning Coffee. Ride on, picking up Elwood Canal Trail to Gardenvale for lunch and aPerwards, depending on weather condiHons, choose to ride to Brighton Beach or just follow the trail back to St Kilda. Return home via Southern Cross Rail StaHon.

Tuesday 22 February – Men’s Shed Classic Ride (approx. 45 kms)
Meet at Hoppers Crossing Railway StaHon at 10 a.m.
Ride past the Werribee Hospital on the trail alongside the Princes Freeway towards Werribee.
ConHnue under the Princes Highway bridge towards the Werribee Zoo, following path to Werribee Mansion for coffee. Return to Werribee for lunch.

        

Tuesday 5 March – Ceres Sustainability Centre (approx.. 40 kms) Meet 10 a.m. Footscray Railway StaHon

Ride to Docklands and conHnue riding alongside City Link Toll Road. Follow trail and turn leP just before Rushall StatIon, heading to Ceres for coffee. Return to Bourke Street for lunch. Ride back to Footscray. Train or ride home to Altona via Newport

Tuesday 12 March– Heinz’s Ride (approx.. 45kms)
Meet at Altona Pier at 10 a.m.
Ride to Sanctuary Lakes conHnuing onto Saltwater Promenade Café for coffee. APer coffee, conHnue to Homestead Road towards AtlanHs Drive. Follow this to Feather Way which runs into HackeB’s Road. Pick up Dunning’s Road and head to Point Cook Town Centre for lunch.

APer lunch, ride towards Skeleton Creek.

Tuesday 19 March – Mitcham Ride
Meet at Flinders Street Railway StaHon at 10 a.m.
Catch train to Mitcham. Coffee shops outside staHon area. Cross Mitcham Road into Barkly Terrace. Cross Maroondah Highway. ConHnue for a short distance on the Service Road and leP into Mitcham Rd to the Eastlink Overpass and turn leP onto the bike track. Follow trail which leads to Alphington StaHon where we will have lunch. Train or ride to Flinders Street StaHon.

Tuesday 26 March– Sanctuary Lakes (approx.. 35 kms)

Meet Altona Pier at 10 a.m.

Ride to Sanctuary Lakes, cross Wetlands Bridge, ride full circle around the lake stopping for Morning Coffee at Saltwater Cafe. APer, those wishing to ride further conHnue to Point Cook Air Museum. (I.D. must be presented by each rider to gain entry)Lunch at Sanctuary Lakes Shopping Centre and return to Men’s Shed.

Tuesday 5 April – Puckle Street Trail
Meet at Footscray Railway StaHon at 10 a.m.

Take Trail towards Maribyrnong River. ConHnue the path to the Maribyrnong Road bridge. Turn Right at Bridge, leP into Lennox Street and Right turn
into Eglington Street towards the Railway Line. Then LeP along Rail Line
to Puckle Street making our way to Puckle Street for Morning Coffee. Follow Puckle Street past the Moonee Valley Racecourse to Pick up the trail and ride towards Kew, stopping at our Lunch spot alongside Fairfield Railway StaHon. Train Home.

Tuesday 12 April – Docklands Ride

Meet at Altona Pier 10 a.m.

Take short cut to Newport via Maddox Road. Coffee at Newport (Hall Street) ConHnue to Bourke Street or Docklands for lunch. Return via Footscray Road to Newport train staHon or ride back to Altona

APer meeHng up, ride FederaHon Trail to Coffee Spot on Old Geelong Rd. ConHnue the ride under the sewerage bridge to Tarneit. Complete the loop and ride back to Werribee township to our regular Café for Lunch.

Train or ride home.

Tuesday 26 April– Glen Waverley (approx.. 55kms)
Meet at Flinders Street Railway StaHon at 10 a.m.
Follow Trail along the Yarra to Ashburton, stopping for coffee rear of High Street, ConHnue across Monash Freeway overpass to Scotchman’s Creek. Follow this trail to Glen Waverley. Lunch in Glen Waverley, Train back to City.

Tuesday 3 May – Glengala Ride
Meet at Altona Pier at 10 a.m.
Take Millers Road: ride towards Bunnings, turn right into Chambers Road then leP into Barnes Road. Ride along Kororoit Creek new bike path and into Blackshaws Road. First leP into Knapp Street, right into Gadsden Street, leP into Rosella Avenue. Over Princes Highway bridge to pick up FederaHon Trail.. (Morning coffee at Geelong Road Workers Café). Lunch at Glengala.

Ride on to meet Ballarat Road, turn and ride loop back to FederaHon Trail and back home.

Take short cut to Newport via Maddox Road. Coffee at Newport (Hall Street) ConHnue to Southbank for lunch. Return via Footscray Road to Newport train staHon or ride back to Altona

Ride towards Docklands and join the Capital City trail at Cosco, conHnue riding alongside City Link Toll Road. Follow trail and turn leP just before Rushall StatIon, heading to Ceres for coffee. ConHnue along the trail to Coburg Lake for lunch at the Boot Factory at Pentridge. Train home to Altona via Newport

Tuesday 24 May SS b SSS bHeidelberg to Eltham or Diamond Creek Meet at Flinders Street Railway StaHon at 10 a.m.

Train to Heidelberg, ride along main Yarra trail to Eltham and return. Train home. Approx. 26km. Could go further to Diamond Creek, increasing the distance to 42km, but some of the guys found the hills and distance a bit much.

Train to East Camberwell staHon, then ride along Anniversary trail, Yarra trail, Merri Creek trail and Capital City trail to Newport- Altona. Approx. 34km.
