Ooops —- another ride change.
The Council is digging up our Pier start point. The new SP is at the Post Office, <100m up Pier St from the Pier at the first roundabout.
Regrettably, there are 2 changes to the 15 June 2025 ride:
1. Buses replace trains on the Werribee and Williamstown routes.
2. The ride will no longer route via the Kororoit Crk Rd/ Maddox Rd junction (i.e. SP 2) but will cross at the Kororoit Crk/ Millers Rds roundabout, due to extensive work on Ross Rd. The revised SP 2 will be the NE corner of the roundabout (i.e. the Mobil refinery side). There is car parking at the rear of the Shell petrol station.
Two start points. From Altona Pier (10.00) we take the Bay Trl to (SP2) Kororoit Crk/ Maddox Rds jct (10.25) and on to the Kororoit Crk Trl to Sunshine Stn (at 20kms). We join the path to Middle Footscray Stn prior to 2km of onroad bike lanes (moderately busy) to Footscray Stn (lunch at Milking Station) (at 30kms). We then return via Yarraville Gdns, to Newport Stn and back to Altona Pier.
Distance: 45 kms. Graded: Easy/ Moderate (some short hilly sections & two short road sections).
