Bay Trail Extension

Jill Hennessy MP, has just released an Altona Community Update which is good news for bike riders. The Bay Trail in the Altona District will soon receive its extension from Sanctuary Lakes to Point Cook Coastal Park. This will give cyclists and pedestrians a new way to access the park’s facilities.

Urban Parks Active Wellbeing program is spending $21 million to deliver upgrades to 21 parks so more Melburnians can spend time outdoors and enjoy the benefits of being in nature.

Consultants GHD will work with Parks Victoria on the design concepts for the trail. Environmental assessments will take place before any works begin to protect Cheetham Wetlands. Parks Victoria expects to start works on the trail extension in 2022.

More happy riding trails for us!
