Friday 2 March 2012 – BayWest BUG dinner
Tonight [by popular demand] we return to dine at Touks Restaurant, 77 Charles Street, Seddon, opposite Victoria Street at 7.00 pm. The restaurant is licensed and has Mediterranean cuisine. Please RSVP as soon as possible so that we can make a booking, it’s a very popular place to eat.

Sunday 4 March 2012, Hoppers Crossing to Werribee Mansion and return
Today we will meet at the Hoppers Crossing station at 9.15am to ride to the Werribee Mansion, following the Federation Trail to where it ends at the Werribee River. We will cross under the freeway to follow the path to the Werribee Mansion for lunch at the café. We will reverse the ride back to Hoppers Crossing station for a train home. Catch the 8.58am train from Altona or 9.04am from Laverton. This ride will be approximately 20 kms.

Sunday 18 March 2012, Altona to Point Cook and return
Today we will meet at Altona pier and leave at 9.00am and follow the path west along the BayWest Trail to the old bridge over Skelton Creek and cross over from Altona Meadows to Seabrook. Once over the bridge we will follow the trail along and then make our way to Point Cook Shopping Centre where we can pick up something for an early lunch. From here, we will follow the back streets the end of the Skelton Creek trail where we will stop for our picnic. After lunch, we follow the Skelton Creek Trail back to Altona. The round trip should be approx. 35kms.

Sunday 12 February 2012 – Altona to Seddon and return
Meet at the Altona pier to leave at 9am for one of our favourite rides. We will follow the BayWest trail through to Williamstown, Newport, and Yarraville and on to Seddon where we will stop for a late breakfast or very early lunch. We will reverse our trip back to Altona for a 40 km return trip.

Sunday 26 February 2012 – Williamstown to St Kilda and return
Meet at the Information Centre, Commonwealth Reserve, Nelson Place Williamstown to leave at 9.30 am in time to catch the first Westgate punt to cross the Yarra River. Once on the other side, we will follow the path along the bay to St Kilda where we will turn around and ride back to Port Melbourne for lunch. After lunch, we will return to the punt to cross over the river again and ride back to Williamstown. Ride should be approximately 30 km’s.

Sunday 22 January – Altona to Sanctuary Lakes

Our first ride of the new year will be an easy flat ride for all those who have been eating too much and have not been on their bike for a while. We will meet at the Altona pier to leave at 9.15 am. A train leaves Werribee at 8.46 am and Laverton at 8.56 am to arrive in time for the start. We will follow the path west along the BayWest Trail to the bridge over Skelton Creek and cross over. Once over the bridge we will follow the road through Sanctuary Lakes to the café on the lake for coffee and a bite to eat. Once re-fuelled, we will return back to Altona. This will be a reasonably short but pleasant ride at approximately 25 kms

Social Ride: Altona to Point Cook and return

Sunday 18 March 2012
Today we will meet at Altona pier and leave at 9.00am and follow the path west along the BayWest Trail to the old bridge over Skelton Creek and cross over from Altona Meadows to Seabrook. Once over the bridge we will follow the trail along and then make our way to Point Cook Shopping Centre where we can pick up something for an early lunch. Sunday 11 December 2011 – Altona Meadows to Williamstown and return

This is our last ride for this year, so it is time to once again to pack your gourmet sandwich and your picnic rug for our annual “Picnic in the Park” ride. We will ride from Salter’s bike shop, 305 Queen Street, Altona Meadows, starting at 10.00 am to Williamstown for a picnic in the park. We will follow the Bay Trail through Altona, arriving at the information centre, Commonwealth reserve, Williamstown at approximately 11.30 am where we will spread out our picnic rugs and dine.

The Williamstown farmers market is also scheduled for this day so bring a pannier or two to take home some goodies.
Anyone wishing to meet us at Williamstown for lunch is also most welcome. If you intend to meet us anywhere other than the start, please let me know so I can keep an eye out so we don’t miss you. [Approx. 30kms].
