Sunday 6 May 2012 – Social ride – Hoppers Crossing to Werribee Mansion and return.
Today we will meet at the Hoppers Crossing station at 10.00am to ride to the Werribee Mansion [third time lucky], following the Federation Trail to where it ends at the Werribee River. We will cross under the freeway to follow the path to the Werribee Mansion for lunch at the café. We will reverse the ride back to Hoppers Crossing station for a train home. Catch the 9.38am train from Altona or 9.44am from Laverton. This ride will be approximately 20 kms.

Friday 11 May 2012 – BayWest BUG Dinner @ Red Spoon, Shop 51, Central Square Shopping Centre, Altona Meadows.
This time we are trying a place at Central Square shopping centre, Red Spoon Cafe/Bar/Restaurant, starting at 7.00pm. Sunday 20 May 2012 – Social ride – Altona to Yarraville and return.
We will meet at the Altona pier to leave at 10.00am and ride the Bay Trail through the Coastal Park, over the Kororoit Creek and on to Williamstown, continuing to Newport, Spotswood until we reach Yarraville where we leave the trail on Hyde Street to follow the back roads into the Yarraville Village where we will find a café for coffee and cake, or maybe lunch. We reverse the trip back to Altona. Ride will be approximately 30kms.

Sunday 1 April 2012 – Altona to North Melbourne and return.
Today we will meet at the Altona pier for a 9.00am departure and will follow the Bay Trail to Footscray where we will then turn towards Melbourne. We will follow the Footscray Road path to Docklands and switch across to the Capitol City trail to Arden Street in North Melbourne. After a short ride along the bike lane, Belinda and Mary will find one of the trendy cafes for your morning coffee, cake or whatever you fancy. This ride should be approximately 40 kms. A return trip by train is an option if you do not wish to ride home.

Saturday 21 April 2012 – Bicycle Education Session @ Goldcross Cycles, Hoppers Crossing.
A repeat of the previous session starting at 10.30am where we had our bikes with us and Jamie took us through step by step how to check everything. Well worth it if you missed the last one, and also for those who want a refresher!

This ride will start at the North Melbourne Railway station for our ride to the Ceres Community Environment Park. The 8.46am train from Werribee, 8.56am from Laverton or the 9.02am train from Altona should see you there for a 9.30am start. A short ride on quiet back roads will get us to the Capitol City trail for our ride to Rushall when we pick up the Merri Creek trail to Ceres for your coffee and a bite to eat. Ride will be approximately 30 kms with the option to catch a train at Rushall station back home.

Friday 2 March 2012 – BayWest BUG dinner.
Tonight [by popular demand] we return to dine at Touks Restaurant, 77 Charles Street, Seddon, opposite Victoria Street at 7.00pm. The restaurant is licensed and has Mediterranean cuisine. Please RSVP as soon as possible so that we can make a booking, it’s a very popular place to eat.

Today we will meet at Altona pier and leave at 9.00am and follow the path west along the BayWest Trail to the old bridge over Skeleton Creek and cross over from Altona Meadows to Seabrook. Once over the bridge we will follow the trail along and then make our way to Point Cook Shopping Centre where we can pick up something for an early lunch. From here, we will follow the back streets the end of the Skeleton Creek trail where we will stop for our picnic. After lunch, we follow the Skeleton Creek Trail back to Altona. The round trip should be approx. 35kms.

Altona to Seddon and return
Meet at the Altona pier to leave at 9.00 am for one of our favourite rides. We will follow the BayWest trail through to Williamstown, Newport, and Yarraville and on to Seddon where we will stop for a late breakfast or very early lunch. We will reverse our trip back to Altona for a 40 km return trip.

Williamstown to St Kilda and return
Meet at the Information Centre, Commonwealth Reserve, Nelson Place Williamstown to leave at 9.30 am in time to catch the first Westgate punt to cross the Yarra River. Once on the other side, we will follow the path along the bay to St Kilda where we will turn around and ride back to Port Melbourne for lunch. After lunch, we will return to the punt to cross over the river again and ride back to Williamstown. Ride should be approximately 30 km’s.
