Meet at Newport Station, on the east side, at 9.30 a.m., and head to the Maribyrnong trail, past the Canning Reserve and on to Brimbank Park (Brownstone Café) for lunch. Return by ring road trail and Kororoit Creek trail. Option to train home from Sunshine to reduce the ride length.

Meet at Flinders Street Station platform 2 at 9.40 a.m. and take the 9.48 to East Malvern. Ride along the Anniversary Trail through Ashburton, Surrey Hills, Camberwell, Canterbury, Balwyn and Kew to Fairfield, lunching at the Bean Counter Café. Return by train from Fairfield, or option to continue on to Newport.

Meet at Altona Pier at 10 a.m. and follow the Bay Trail West to the bridge over Skeleton Creek and then to Sanctuary Lakes. Turn south and follow local roads to the Point Cook Coastal Park. Return to Sanctuary Lakes and on via Skeleton Creek and Palmers Rd to the Williams Landing Shopping Centre. Lunch at the Jolly Miller Café. Return along Skeleton Creek, then the Bay Trail West to Altona, or alternatively, train home from Williams Landing.

Meet at Parliament Station Platform 1 at 10.00 a.m. and take the 10.07 to Heidelberg. From Heidelberg, we ride down Yarra Street to the Main Yarra Trail, and cycle along the Yarra Trail, through the City of Banyule, following the river past wetlands and a picturesque view of Finns Reserve, to Westerfolds Park. Follow the trail near the river through Westerfolds, crossing a newish bridge over the Yarra and head to Eltham.

There are two or three lunch spots in Eltham, or just north, to choose from, or alternatively for a longer ride, we can continue on the track to Diamond Creek, lunching there or returning to Eltham for lunch. Return home by train from Eltham, or cycle back to Heidelberg.

Distance from Heidelberg to Eltham is 15km (30km return). Extension to Diamond Creek is a further 12km return. The trail includes some modest hills. Some of the trail is not sealed; suitable tyres are a requirement.

Overnight trip to Lake Elizabeth near Forrest. This will involve scenic walks of about two hours duration and some short bike rides on easy trails. We will be staying at the Wonky Stables Holiday Park overnight.

Meet at Hoppers Crossing Station at 10 a.m. Head north then west, following Skeleton Creek then Tarneit Creek through the delightful wetlands to Derrimut Road, then continuing through Tarneit to the Werribee River Path, and on to Werribee for lunch. Return to Hoppers Crossing via the Federation Trail. Some local roads at Tarneit.

Easy. Approx. 35km.

Meet at Altona Pier at 10.30 a.m. and follow the Bay Trail West to the bridge over Skeleton Creek and then to Sanctuary Lakes. Turn south and follow local roads to RAAF Point Cook, and view the Museum, and a flying display at 1 p.m. with a vintage aircraft, and possibly aerobatics, (see http://www.airforce.gov.au/raafmuseum/exhibitions/inter_display.htm). Photo id required for entry. Simple take away lunch from the coffee shop.  Return via Sanctuary Lakes and the Bay Trail to Altona.
