Sunday 17 January 2010.
NOTE - 9.00 a.m. start.
For our first ride for 2010 we will meet at Altona Pier to leave at 9.00 a.m., we’ll ride along the BayWest Trail stopping in at Seddon for a late breakfast or a very early lunch.
It will be about 20 km’s to Seddon, so for all those who have had too much to eat over the past few weeks and have not been on their bike, this should be easy. With the hot days now here, we will leave early to try and beat the heat. If anyone doesn’t wish to ride back to Altona, we can jump on a Metro train at Seddon station.

Sunday 11th October 2009 is “Pedals on the Path”. “Pedals on the Path” is a youth training program to bring together youth in Hobsons Bay, to promote a healthy lifestyle and raise money to assist youth in the western suburbs, westernchances.org.
This is a yearly event and we have been asked to provide marshals along the route by Leigh Deprose. For those who don’t remember, it was Leigh’s group that assisted us last year with the Laverton Fun Ride.
It would great if as many members as possible assist on the day. A BBQ and registration is at 12.00 noon and at 1.15 pm the event starts with a 10 km & 22 km bike ride, 6 km walk and a 10 km run starting at Cresser reserve Altona Melway ref: map 55 A11. BBQ lunch and drinks can be purchased from 12.00 noon. It would probably be easier to ride to your marshalling point as all events follow the shared trail, both east and west of the start point.
If you would prefer to participate in the ride/walk/run or want further information go to pedalsonthepath.com. You can download an application form or I can give you one Thursday nights meeting.
There will be a briefing at the Altona Baptist Church hall Sargood Street [next to the Coles car park] at 2.00 pm on Sunday 4th October 2009, one week prior to the event.
Please let me know as soon as possible if you are able to assist and I will pass this on. We appreciated Leigh’s and his friends help last year, it would be great to reciprocate.
Regards
Allan.

On Sunday the 26th July, NOT Saturday as previously planned, starting at the pier in Altona at 10.am. We will ride the path to the punt at Spotswood, then take the punt over the river and ride the path down the bay to Sandringham where we can stop for coffee/lunch, then either ride home or take the train home, as it will be a head wind on the way back. This is a fairly easy ride, mostly on path, with some road if the path is closed. It should be about 40kms one way.
This August we’re joining MazzaBUG for our next adventure; an overnight ride on 15/16th August along the Great Southern Rail Trail!
